About 70 restaurants at Suvarnabhumi airport have joined a new food guide, offering pocket-friendly food sets with prices starting at just 50 baht.
Transport authorities launched the project at Bangkok's major airport, in Samut Prakan province yesterday, giving travellers new choices of affordable food at a range of prices.
The airport management earlier asked airport restaurant operators to introduce menu sets of food and beverages at more affordable prices. The menus are listed in the Suvarnabhumi Food Guide.
The guide is available in printed form at information booths and can be downloaded using a QR code. Food sets are available at three prices: "Save" at 50 baht, "Budget" at 125 baht, and "Value" at 280 baht.
Launching the project in the arrival zone of the airport, Deputy Transport Minister Pailin Chuchottaworn said Airports of Thailand would expand the affordable food project to other airports to increase food choices there. In December, the ombudsman inspected food prices at the airport and told airport management to increase the availability of cheap food.
