Susuki silver grass in the Sengokuhara district in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture, has just reached the peak of its autumnal sparkle. Fields of the grass glistened in the sunlight on a slope of Mt. Daigatake, entertaining visitors who were wearing masks to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
"I haven't been here before, I was impressed by the silver color of the grass," said a 24-year-old male college student from Tokyo, who visited the district on Saturday with a friend using the government-subsidized Go To Travel tourism promotion campaign. "The combination of the grass and the surrounding mountains is also beautiful."
According to the Hakone tourist information center, the silver grass can be enjoyed until mid-November.
