Sussex Inlet house fire leaves on person dead, two injured

A man in his 70s has died in a house fire at Sussex Inlet on the NSW south coast today.

Two other people have been injured.

Emergency services were called to the house on Boatharbour Drive just after 8am after reports that a home was on fire.

Police say two neighbours entered the home before emergency services arrived and removed the occupant.

They attempted CPR but were unable to save the man.

One neighbour, also in his 70s, was airlifted to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Another 46-year-old man was taken to Shellharbour hospital with minor injuries.

The blaze has been extinguished but firefighters remain on the scene assisting police with their inquiries and mopping up.

The home sustained minor damage.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, and police say they are not treating it as suspicious.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
