'Suspicious package' which led to Livingston suburb lockdown was firework

A "suspicious package" which led to a street being locked down in Livingston was a firework.

There was a heavy police presence around Falconer Rise in Dedridge on Tuesday evening after a suspicious item was reported to the police.

A cordon was put in place around the street with a bomb disposal unit called out to the scene. The police helicopter was also seen in the area.

The BBC reports the package was removed from the building to be destroyed after it was confirmed to be a firework.

Police Scotland said no one was injured and the cordon was removed later on Tuesday night.
