Suspicious package shuts down Ngunnawal street

A Ngunnawal street was closed off by police for more than an hour on Monday after a suspicious package was found in the area.

The package was found about 8.50am on Mondayon Bunburnung Close.

An ACT police spokesman said the road was cordoned off as a precaution.

Multiple police cars were seen in the area as officers attempted to remove the package.

Specialist response officers were also called in.

The police spokesman said the package was removed from the area shortly before 10.30am and the road was reopened to traffic.

Police did not say what the package contained.
