Suspicious men caught on camera set up for spotting badgers

A Westbury-on-Trym woman was 'shocked' to discover that two men had been patrolling by her home in the early hours of the morning.

Fifty-year-old Helen installed a night vision camera to spot badgers and foxes that frequently raid her food recycling bins.

But instead, she saw two suspicious looking males wearing backpacks walking up her driveway.

She said: “The footage showed these two lads looking to see if the gate of our back garden was unlocked.

“It really shocked me. It made me a bit paranoid and worried about security."

She said a few years ago her shed was broken into and on one occasion she found her car jacked with a wheel missing.

“I feel there must be a lot of people scouting around every night hoping to find an unlocked door or car," added Helen.

Both males were wearing backpacks as they walked up her driveway at 1 am Wednesday morning (November 25) (Helen- Facebook)

In a post she shared on a neighborhood Facebook group on Wednesday evening (November 25), it seems there were several break ins in the area - from garages to cars being ransacked.

One commenter said: “If it ain’t screwed down, they will nick it - pity they cannot be given a good thrashing.”

Helen said she did not see the point in reporting it to the police as the men had not broken in.

But after seeing the comments, she is keen to shed light on the incident and warn others in the area.
