‘Suspicious’ man approaches school girl in tiny Scots village sparking police probe

A police investigation has been launched after a man acted ‘suspiciously’ towards a Scots school girl.

The 11-year-old was targeted in Caberston Road, Walkerburn, at around 8.55am on Wednesday, May 19.

Officers say they are examining the circumstances around the incident and are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the interaction.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55am on Wednesday, 19 May, police were called to a report of a man acting suspiciously towards a 11-year-old girl in Caberston Road, Walkerburn.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 0660 of Wednesday, 19 May, 2021."
