Agreements made with five countries — U.S., France, Germany, UAE and Kuwait — allow the airlines of both countries to operate a limited number of non-stop flights.
“More similar arrangements are likely to fructify and ease passenger movement from different countries,” the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a press statement.
Separately, India is also operating repatriation flights under the Vande Bharat Mission. More than 2,500 repatriation flights by foreign carriers have also been permitted since the ban on overseas operations came into effect on March 22.
