Two men in their fifties were arrested and charged after a "serious assault" at a tower block in Wirral.
Mihails Simanis, 52, and Vasilijs Tarasjevs, 56, have both been charged with section 18 assault (inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent), after a serious assault at Joseph Groome Towers in Ellesmere Port on Tuesday, October 11. Tarasjevs was also charged with possession of a bladed article.
The two men appeared in Chester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, October 12. Both men will remain in custody at HMP Altcourse prison until Wednesday, November 9, before appearing at Chester Crown Court.

Previously, a spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "Two men have been charged following a serious assault in Ellesmere Port. Mihails Simanis, 52, and Vasilijs Tarasjevs, 56, were subsequently arrested and charged with section 18 assault.
"Tarasjevs was further charged with possession of a bladed article.
"The charges relate to a serious assault in Joseph Groome Towers, Ellesmere Port on 11 October."
