Suspects in murder of Stephen Maguire named and charged by police

The men suspected of murdering Stephen Maguire were named by police.

Mr Maguire was shot dead in his home on Guildford Road, in Birkdale, on March 16 after a masked gang burst into the house.

The 27-year-old's partner and six-year-old stepdaughter were told to go upstairs before Stephen was shot multiple times.

He died a short time later from a wound to his stomach despite paramedics attempts to save him.

A huge hunt for those involved has carried on over the last seven weeks before Merseyside Police made a number of arrests on Wednesday.

Three men were arrested in connection with the murder following a series of raids around the city.

On Thursday evening, officers charged and named those suspected of killing Stephen.

All three were charged with murder, kidnap, possession of a firearm and robbery.
