A police helicopter was deployed after an attempted motorbike-jacking by two masked men.
Cheshire Constabulary said officers were called to Budworth Close in Halton Lodge, Runcorn, at 2.25pm on Monday. A force spokeswoman said the constabulary had received reports that two armed men in balaclavas had made threats and tried to steal an off-road motorbike.
Officers’ efforts to trace the suspects are ongoing. The type of weapon remains unconfirmed.

A Cheshire Police spokeswoman said: “At 2.25pm on April 24, police were called to Budworth Close in Runcorn following reports of an attempted robbery.
“Two men wearing balaclavas threatened the rider of an off-road motorbike with a weapon and tried to take the bike.
“Officers supported by the police helicopter made a search of the area.
“Enquiries to locate the suspects are continuing.”
