Anti-narcotics police yesterday arrested a suspect in Chiang Yuen district of Maha Sarakham province in a sting connected to a 4-million methamphetamine pill haul.
Three other men who were in possession of the drugs, worth about 1 billion baht, were also captured, police said. Narcotics Suppression Bureau police in Udon Thani and Narcotics Control Board officials tailed a black Toyota Wish driven by Sathaporn Thopbandit, from Sangkhom district in Nong Khai.
NSB chief Pol Lt Gen Sommai Kongwisaisook said Mr Sathaporn, a native of Maha Sarakham, was arrested along with Poonsawas Phosu of Nakhon Phanom, Ritthichai Thassakorn of Sakon Nakhon and Sanpraset Ayawan, a Lao national.
