A suspected pervert was blocked by locals in a street amid claims he was trying to abduct a teenage girl in broad daylight.
Residents used their vehicles to block the man from leaving the scene, in Tullibody, Clackmannanshire, in his car.
Officers were then called to the area and a man was taken away.
Police Scotland praised locals for their help during the incident, which took place about 1.15pm on Saturday and was caught on camera by an onlooker.
The force said it wanted to “thank the local community for their assistance” as a probe was launched to try to establish the full circumstances.
Local dad Paul Price was hailed a “hero” after he used his lorry to prevent the suspect from driving away after he was seen with a girl.
The 53-year-old said: “I was just in the right place at the right time.”
A resident, who did not want to be named, recalled seeing a teenager jumping into a car before the incident.
He said: “I thought I saw the car coming into the scheme and thought I observed somebody jumping in the car. It was possibly a teenager with blonde hair.
“About 15 to 20 minutes later there were several police cars and a gentleman who was trapped in his car.
“There was a car and a recovery vehicle parked side by side which stopped him exiting the scheme.
“The man didn’t seem to want to get out the car and the flatbed truck had its door right next to the door on the
driver’s car.
“After that, I saw two policemen take him out the car and they were standing talking to him outside the police car.”
On social media, mum Joyce Campbell shared images of the suspect sitting behind the wheel before being led into a waiting police car.
She wrote: “Warning. Please keep your kids safe in Tullibody.”
The community praised the efforts of those who intervened. One local wrote on Facebook: “Thanks to the person who blocked this person in and stopped him getting away. Local hero in my eyes.”
Police Scotland said a man is due to appear at Alloa Sheriff Court today in connection with the incident.
A force statement said he was arrested and charged after “concerns were raised about suspicious behaviour”.
It added: “Further inquiries into the matter are ongoing and officers would like to thank the local community for
their assistance.”
