A man attempted to rob a bakery in Prescot while armed with a knife.
Police have charged a man after the attempted robbery took place at around 11.25am on Thursday, May 5. Staff at Waterfields, on Greenes Road, said a man with a knife demanded money from the till.
Officers have confirmed they have now charged Connor Lunt with attempted robbery. The 26-year-old, of Dragon Lane, Whiston, is due to appear in court this morning, on Monday, May 9.

A Merseyside police spokesperson said: "A man has been charged following an attempted robbery at a bakery in Prescot which took place last week. At around 11.25am on Thursday 5 May, officers were called to an attempted robbery at Waterfields on Greenes Road where it was reported that a man had entered the premises armed with a knife and demanded money from the till.
"He then left empty handed and no one was injured during the incident. Connor Lunt, 26 years, of Dragon Lane, Whiston was arrested on Saturday 7 May and has been charged with attempted robbery.
"He has been remanded into custody and will appear at St Helens and Knowsley Magistrates Court this morning, Monday 9 May."
