28-year-old Adam Plant of Downfield Close, West Derby Village has been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis.

He will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court this morning.

A man and a woman also arrested yesterday have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Operation Venetic involves European law enforcement agencies working with the National Crime Agency and supported across the UK by police forces and regional organised crime units.

Around 60,000 users of EncroChat have been identified worldwide, with about 10,000 of them in the UK – all involved in coordinating and planning the supply and distribution of drugs and weapons, money laundering and other criminal activity.
