Suspected fraudster named as police launch manhunt

A manhunt is underway after a suspected fraudser failed to turn up at court.

Today Merseyside Police issued an image of Kevin Bernard as part of their hunt.

They say the 43-year-old from Bootle is accused of separate driving and fraud offences..

But he failed to show up to answer the charges at a court hearing.

And police now want the public's help in tracking him down.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information to find wanted Bootle man Kevin Bernard.

"Bernard, 43, is wanted in connection with failing to appear at court for separate driving and fraud offences."

Police say he speaks "with a Liverpool accent" and describe him as 6ft tall, of broad build, with shaved brown hair and blue eyes.

The spokesperson added: "If you have seen Bernard or hold any information, come forward via @MerPolCC on Twitter, ' Merseyside Police Contact Centre' on Facebook, 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with reference 21000286445 and we'll do the rest."
