A man was arrested for drug-driving and driving while banned after reversing his car into the gates of a police station.

The Skoda driver crashed into the gates of the station at Eccles in Salford in the early hours of this morning (Saturday). Police pursued the car for a short time before detaining the driver.

He failed a drug test, officers said. He was suspected to be disqualified from driving and had no insurance.
