Suspected drug driver arrested after crash turned car onto its roof

A car was left on its roof after crashing into a parked vehicle on Monday morning.

Merseyside Police rushed to the junction of Newton Road and Broad Oak Road in St Helens at around 7.20am on Monday following reports of a car crash.

Police arrived at the scene in Parr to find a Ford Ka had crashed into a parked Vauxhall Corsa and turned onto its roof.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

An ambulance was called but there are no reports of anyone being seriously injured.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed that the man has been released under investigation and inquiries remain ongoing.

A North West Ambulance Service told the ECHO: "We attended but no one required hospital treatment."

Witnesses reported heavy traffic around the Fleet Lane area during the time of the crash.
