Suspected drug dealer led from house as £13,000 in cash seized

A suspected drug dealer was led out of a house this morning after police found a stash of bank notes totalling £13,000.

Officers stormed the property in St Helens this morning.

Once inside the premises in South Street police unearthed the huge cash pile.

A 33-year-old man inside the house was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs. He was taken to a police station for questioning.

A search of the location is ongoing today, police said.

A picture of the stash of cash was also released by Merseyside Police who said the operation was part of national organised crime blitz Operation Venetic.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We have arrested a man and seized a large quantity of cash following a warrant carried out in St Helens this morning, Wednesday 3 February.

"Following information received, officers attended a house on South Street and detained a man.

"A search of the location is ongoing. Around £13,000 cash has been found and will be seized pending further enquiries."

He added: "A 33-year-old man from St Helens has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs. He was taken to a police station for questioning.
