Suspected burst water main causes heavy flooding in Kilmarnock town centre

A suspected burst water main is causing heavy flooding in Kilmarnock this evening.

At least four covers in the town centre are spraying water into the air.

Both sides of King Street are heavily flooded with water.

No businesses appear to be affected at this stage.

East Ayrshire Council have been made aware of the flooding and have said that Scottish Water are dealing with the incident.

It's understood that the water has been spraying in the town centre for more than an hour tonight.

The pressure of the water is so strong that the stream is blasting between cobbles on the high street.
