A 24-year-old man from Kirkby and an 18-year-old man from Croxteth were arrested on suspicion of burglary, and have been taken to a police station for questioning by detectives.
Detective Sergeant Darren Hankin from Operation Castle - the force response to burglary - said: "This was smart work by officers and our valued colleagues at NPAS, assisted by those reporting the offence to us immediately.
"It isn't easy to hide from officers, police dogs and the heat-sensors and lights of a circling helicopter, as these two showed by trying to hide up a tree."
