A suspected burglar was chased down by a police dog after crashing a stolen car and leaving his mate blocked in by a concrete stump.
Police were called to a compound near to the Trafford Centre's Barton Square extension on Saturday afternoon after a member of the public spotted a 'suspicious vehicle' going inside.
When officers arrived, the Volkswagen Scirocco - which had been stolen from Manchester - sped off and a chase unfolded.
But not long afterwards the car crashed into a side road in Salford .
The driver jumped out and ran off, leaving two others inside the car.
According to PC Andrew Walsh, of GMP Stretford , the front passenger couldn't escape because his door was blocked from opening by a concrete stump on the pavement.
The person in the back also found themselves stuck due to the backseat being full of tools including a boltcutter, sledgehammer and a crow bar.
Both passengers were arrested at the scene and the driver was caught following a chase on foot by an officer and police dog.
One of the passengers was a 16-year-old boy, the other a 31-year-old man.
Police have not yet confirmed the age of the driver, but said all three are currently being quizzed on suspicion of burglary.
