Suspected British ISIS soldier deported back to UK from Turkey

A British ISIS suspect has been deported back to the UK, government officials in Turkey have announced.

The suspected ISIS soldier has been deported from Turkey along with seven German suspects who will also be sent back to their home country.

Interior ministry officials confirmed the move to news agencies close to the government in Ankara, the Mirror reports.

None of the eight suspects have been named.

An American man, who had been stuck on the border of Turkey and Greece, was also extradited back to the US this morning.

There are currently more than 1,000 ISIS convicts and suspected militants being held in Turkish jails but it is unknown how many are British.

Since 2010 the UK has stripped more than 100 people of British citizenship over their alleged links to Isis, al-Qaida, al-Shabab and other terrorist groups.
