A man allegedly drove at a police officer amid a chase along a motorway.
The suspect was wanted for an assault earlier in the day on Sunday, but refused to comply with officers and led them on a pursuit on the M6, which started in Warrington.
At one stage, the man, 30, allegedly drove at a police officer.

It is understood he was not harmed and the vehicle did not strike the officer.
Officers had to implement tactical pursuit and containment measures such as rolling road blocks and a spike stop to prevent the suspect escaping.
Joshua Beech, from Hampton Green, Cannock, was arrested and subsequently charged with assault, burglary, assault of an emergency services worker, failing to stop and harassment.
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court this week.
Warrington police and Cheshire police roads and crime unit teamed up with armed officers from Cheshire and North Wales and North west transport police in a operation.
Northwest Motorway Police said: "A fantastic bit of teamwork."
