Suspect receives ‘instant karma’ when his truck gets stolen ‘while he’s committing burglary’

A suspect was hit with “instant karma” when his truck was stolen whilst he was allegedly committing a burglary.

Bodycam footage shared by Howard County Police Department shows Jalen Godard, 29, approaching officers at 5.44am on June 25, claiming that his vehicle had been taken whilst he was at a McDonald’s in Maryland.

Minutes earlier, officers had been investigating a break-in at a nearby Verizon store in Ellicott City. Approaching the scene, officers noticed blood on a broken window and deduced that the suspect must also have blood on them.

Cutting back to Goddard, officers noticed the 29-year-old’s hand was covered in blood. After denying that he committed the robbery, officers handcuffed Goddard.

“That’s kind of some karma right there, ain’t it?” the officer laughed.

Godard was charged with burglary, theft and destruction of property. No details have been released on who stole the suspect’s car.
