Police Tuesday conducted a reenactment of the killing of a woman whose body was found dumped in a roadside ditch in Pathum Thani's Muang district on Sunday afternoon.
The murder suspect, Peerapat or "Jo" Khamlun, 32, was made to reenact what police believed were the events leading up to the murder of Maliwan Onnu, 24.
Mr Peerapat was arrested in tambon Banmai in Pathum Thani's Muang district on Monday evening after police reviewed CCTV footage that showed a pickup truck parked near to where her body was found.
The suspect who works as a driver is currently being detained at Muang police station in Pathum Thani for further questioning.
Police said the suspect admitted killing Maliwan after picking her up during a night out with two Lao work colleagues.
They said he dropped the two migrants off before taking her to a room at the tyre repair shop where they worked and paid her for sex.
Police said he killed her in a fit of anger after she refused to perform a sex act he demanded. Investigators said he strangled her and covered her head with a plastic bag before wrapping her in a blanket, putting her in the back of his pickup and dumping her body in the ditch nest to Road No.345 in tambon Bang Khu Wat.
Pol Col Peeraphol Chotikkasathien, head of Muang Pathum Thani police station, said after the discovery of the body, investigators questioned friends of the victim and used footage from CCTV cameras along several roads to track down the suspect.
A review of the footage revealed Maliwan getting into the back of a pickup with three men.
The same pickup truck was later spotted near to where the victim was later found dumped.
The two Lao workers were detained first at their rooms in Pathum Thani's Muang district which led to the arrest of Mr Peerapat.
Pol Lt Col Wisit Maaksorn, head of the investigation team, said the two migrants were being detained as witnesses.
No charges have yet been brought against them.
