The crash happened on Ormskirk Road, in Pemberton, at around 9.20pm on Friday, April 8, after a Land Rover ploughed into a group of people outside Fifteens bar. A woman in her 40s died and two men were seriously injured.
Tony Callaghan, who runs the bar, confirmed the woman had been at the venue before her death. He said he didn't know the woman's name, but understood she "isn't from the area" and had supposedly been in Wigan visiting family.
Witnesses reported seeing two young men get out of the car after the crash, with Greater Manchester Police confirming a second man who had been arrested in relation to the incident has now been released under investigation.
Floral tributes have been left outside the bar to the "beautiful soul" killed in the crash. One said: "A beautiful soul taken too soon. Thinking of you and your family at this unbelievably sad time."
Another said: "RIP beautiful. Thinking of your family and friends, Gone far too soon. x". One well-wisher wrote: "Thinking of everyone at this sad time. Our sincere thoughts are with you."
