Suspect named after teenage Liverpool fan attacked and robbed outside hotel

A suspect was named by police after a teenager was attacked and had his jaw broken outside a hotel.

The 17-year-old came to Liverpool with his girlfriend from Shropshire on Wednesday, April 13, when he was attacked by a man while walking down Chapel Street. The victim was chased into the Mercure Hotel where he was beaten again.

The man then left the hotel and took the victims coat and wallet with him. The teenager suffered a broken jaw and was taken to hospital for treatment. He was left very distressed and in great pain.

Peter Clark McHale, 36 years of Union Street in Liverpool city centre was arrested and charged with Section 18 assault, robbery and theft. He's been remanded in custody and will appear at Liverpool Crown Court at a later date.
