A suspect was named by police after a man was seen hanging from a balcony during a six-hour police stand off at a block of flats.
Merseyside Police rushed to Quarry Green Heights in Northwood, at around 1pm on Monday, August 1. It is believed a man was attempting to get into one of the flats.
He was recognised as someone with a restraining order and as officers arrived at the scene on Daleside Road and a man was spotted on the balcony of a first floor apartment. Police attempted to arrest the man who refused to come down, sparking a six hour stand off with officers.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service were also in attendance and the road was cordoned off for most of the day. Pictures taken from flats above show the man leaning on the railings and swinging back and forward.
Shortly before 7pm, the man on the balcony agreed to come down and was arrested by officers. He was immediately put into the back of a police van.
The man, who was arrested on suspicion of breach of a civil injunction, has now been named as Anthony Lee Hughes, 37, of no fixed address. He was charged with multiple counts of breach of a civil injunction.
He was remanded into custody and appeared in court today (Tuesday, August 2).
