Suspect named after police seize £128,000 worth of heroin at train station

Police seized £128,000 worth of heroin after a man was stopped at a railway station.

Officers were called to Stonehaven Railway Station in Scotland on September 6 and seized the large quantity of drugs.

Following the discovery a man was charged in connection with the discovery.

David Lee Woods, 32, from Liverpool was due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.

Stonehaven lies on the North East coast of Scotland, 15 miles south of Aberdeen.

The town has an estimated population of around 12,000 people.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "On Monday, 6 September, 2021, officers recovered heroin worth an estimated street value of £128,000 following the search of a man at Stonehaven Railway Station.

"A 32-year-old man from the Liverpool area was arrested and charged in connection with the discovery.

"He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
