Suspect named after police find gun and drugs

Police have named a suspect after finding a gun and drugs at a house.

Last year detectives found a gun in the garden of a property on Altmoor Road, Huyton, on September 6.

Now Merseyside police have charged Adam Sullivan with handling the gun recovered.

The 25-year-old has also been charged with drugs possession, after cannabis was also seized from the same address on Altmoor Road, yesterday, on Tuesday, February 8.

Sullivan has been kept in custody and is set to appear in court today.

A spokesperson for the force said: "A man has been charged with possession of a firearm and drugs possession after a warrant was executed in Huyton yesterday (Tuesday 8 February).

"Officers recovered a firearm at the rear of an address on Altmoor Road on 6 September 2021.

"Following enquiries a warrant was executed on the same street yesterday, and a quantity of cannabis recovered.

"Adam Sullivan, 25, of Altmoor Road, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and possession of a Class B controlled drug (cannabis).

"He was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 9 February)."
