Suspect named after man demands money in attempted post office robbery

A suspect was charged in connection with an attempted post office robbery.

Merseyside Police has arrested and charged a man after an attempted robbery at Tuebrook Post Office on West Derby Road. A man entered the post office at around 4.50pm on Thursday, December 1 and reportedly made threats and demands for money.

Staff activated the alarms and the man fled the scene empty handed. Following police enquiries a man was identified and arrested.

The suspect has now been named as Arif Mian. The 44-year-old, of Green Lane in Tuebrook, has been charged with attempted robbery and will appear at South Sefton Magistrates' Court today, Monday, December 5.
