Suspect named after gun and amphetamine raid on house

A suspected drug dealer was today named by police after a weapon and drugs stash were found when officers stormed a house in Liverpool.

Police made the discovery after raiding the house in Old Swan.

After bursting into the house in Allenby Square police uncovered a firearm, ammunition, cannabis and what they termed "a quantity of white powder".

A man has since been charged with alleged dealing - specifically amphetamine - as well as other drug and gun offences after the raid on Friday, May 21.

Naming the suspect a Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We have charged a 32-year-old man with drug and firearm offences following a warrant in Old Swan last week, Friday, May 21.

"At around 8.45am on Friday a warrant was executed at an address on Allenby Square.

"A firearm, ammunition, a quantity of white power and cannabis were seized by officers and a man was detained.

"Lee McGlory, aged 32, from Allenby Square, has now been charged with possession of a Class B drug (cannabis); possession with intent to supply a Class B drug (amphetamine); possession of a firearm; possession of ammunition for a firearm."

McGlory was remanded in custody and appeared in court on Saturday where he was further remanded to appear at a later date.
