Suspect in court on assault rap after police called to Troon boozer

A man has been charged after police were called to an incident at an Ayrshire boozer.

Police were alerted to an assault in Templehill, Troon, at around 8.45pm on Thursday August 13.

A 35-year-old was rushed to the University Hospital, Ayr, for treatment after being found in the bar with injuries.

Cops arrested a 29-year-old man soon after in connection with the incident and he was later charged.

He appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Friday and was remanded in custody.

A Police Scotland statement said: "About 8.45pm on Thursday 13 August 2020 officers were called to a report of an assault in a bar in Templehill, Troon.

"A 35-year-old man was found in the bar with injuries and he was taken to University Hospital, Ayr for treatment.

"A 29-year-old man was arrested a short time later in connection with the assault. He was subsequently charged and held in custody.

"The 29-year-old man appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court on Friday 14 August 2020 and was remanded in custody."
