Police have arrested a suspected flasher in Runcorn.

A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said officers received a report shortly after 6pm on Sunday of an man having indecently exposed himself at the Town Park near Stockham Lane.

Police attended and arrested a 30-year-old man from Runcorn in connection with the incident, which happened at about 5.45pm.

He has since been interviewed in custody and released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

An investigation is ongoing and witnesses are urged to contact the police.

The force spokesman said the constabulary was unable to release a description of the suspect as the investigation is under way.

He said: “Anyone with information that may aid the ongoing investigation should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 718831, give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Runcorn Town Park is Halton’s biggest park and is undergoing a £1.4m revamp.

It stretches from Holt Lane in Halton Village to Phoenix Park and has borders with most new town estates.

The park has experienced an upturn in use since the start of pandemic lockdown and prohibitions on leisure travel.
