A man wanted for the alleged rape of his 12-year-old stepdaughter in Nakhon Si Thammarat was caught in Chon Buri province on Wednesday after nine years on the run.

Crime Suppression Division officers apprehended Anusorn Samidee, 38, of Loei province, at workers’ living quarters in tambon Khao Khansong, Sri Racha district of Chon Buri, on Wednesday.

The suspect was wanted on a warrant issued by Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Court for allegedly raping his stepdaughter in Sichon district of the southern province on Dec 16, 2009. He fled to other provinces to escape arrest.

CSD police eventually found out the suspect was working at a construction site in the eastern province of Chon Buri.

Mr Anusorn allegedly confessed to the charge. He was to be handed over to Sichon police for legal action.
