Susie Cave launches The Vampire’s House interiors collection

Love The Vampire’s Wife’s floral, Victoriana-inspired dresses so much you could live in them? Now there’s a way.

Launching today on MatchesFashion.com, the label renowned for its long, lamé flounced gowns, ribbon tied collars and leg of mutton sleeves makes its first steps into homeware. You might have guessed what it looks like; all ruffle trim chiffon pillows and teal shade, foliage print hot water bottle covers. But there are surprises too, like charming, Nineteenth century looking teddy bears, brought up to date in bright coloured silks.

It is all the brainchild of creative director Susie Cave, the porcelain skinned, dark haired poster girl for the brand she launched in 2016. The Vampire’s Wife takes its name from an abandoned book project of her husband’s, the musician Nick Cave, and since has garnered a cult customer base spanning the Duchess of Cambridge, Jodie Comer and Sarah Jessica Parker.

“It has been so wonderful to create The Vampire’s House with my long time collaborators Matches Fashion, who have been working with me from the beginning of The Vampire’s Wife,” says Cave. “I hope you like The Vampire’s House!”

This initial iteration spans 12 core styles for the bedroom, from frilled eye masks, eiderdown quilts and little, lavender scented pouches. “Using rich, luxurious printed silk satins, embroidered velvets and the brands signature metallic lamé. “The Vampire’s Wife have created desirable pieces all focused around styling your bedroom,” says Liane Wiggins, Matches Fashion’s Head of Womenswear. “Given the brand’s love of opulent evening fabrics, textures, print and colour used in the RTW collections, it made sense to create an elevated, decadent offer for the home.”

If you’re wondering why you can only have a Vampire’s Bedroom so far, be patient. Future collections will tackle every room, one-by-one. Although there’s nothing stopping you putting these pieces in the living room. What would make a better conversation starter at your Christmas drinks than a huge, pink, heart-shaped, rose print pillow designed by Mrs. Cave herself? Better stock up before they go, though.
