Susanna Reid steps in as explosive row over Meghan and Harry erupts on Good Morning Britain

Good Morning Britain descended into chaos on Tuesday, January 3 following a discussion about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. In a particularly heightened moment, host Richard Madeley accused the royal couple of "whinging", prompting co-host Susanna Reid to act as referee between Richard and the ITV show's two guests.

Guests, writer Esther Krakue and journalist Nina Myskow screamed at each other after Esther agreed with Richard’s remark about Prince Harry whinging and called Meghan and Harry “brats”. She said: “No I'm sorry but that is the point. This is all they do. They said they wanted to leave the royal family to carve their own path to do good, they have not done good. They have a nice mansion in California, why don't you stay there with your kids and your chicken coops and keep your mouth shut?"

At this point, Nina cut in and said: “Can I just ask you what was the terrible thing that came out of the Oprah interview? and Esther replied: "Constant whinging, that's what came out of it." The heated debate prompted several people to share their thoughts on social media.

Tensions were high in the GMB studio (ITV)

One person wrote: “What a absolute rabble - like watching a family argument when no-one wants to give in and let the other person speak.” And a second said: “Oh please shut that Nina up!! Harry and Meghan are whingers !!!”

A third added: “Madeley isn't shutting this gobby mouthpiece up because he obviously agrees.” Meanwhile, a fourth disagreed with Madeley's comments and said: "Leave the negative jibs regarding Prince Harry. He wants a family not the firm that runs the Royals. Suzannes side kick should leave his personal views to himself."

Prince Harry is set to give an interview with journalist Tom Bradby on Sunday, January 8 at 8pm on ITV1. Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am.
