Susanna Reid says 'goodbye' to GMB for summer after announcing break with rain-soaked selfie

Good Morning Britain will have a new lead host next week as Susanna Reid said 'goodbye' to the show.

The presenter will be off-screen now for the summer after finishing her last show on Tuesday.

Susanna, 50, revealed at the end of the show that she's taking time off until September.

"I'm going to say goodbye," she said in the closing seconds of today's GMB.

"I'm taking a break now for the summer but Good Morning Britain, of course, is back tomorrow from 6am."

Co-host Ben Shephard then joked about the 'scenes' after Susanna confirmed the news, showing people celebrating.

Prior to that, Ben joked during a interview with EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt: "He's taking a sabbatical.

"You do that, if you’ve been at a place long enough, you can take a sabbatical."

Susanna replied: "I tell you what, I’m taking a sabbatical for the summer."

Ben laughed as she pointed out: "Today’s my last day."

"Oh, happy days!," he laughed before eventually adding "We'll miss you."

But Susanna had already confirmed her last show - with a rain-soaked selfie.

The TV star shared a selfie on Instagram with her messy brunette locks falling into her face.

"RAINY! Last couple of days @gmb tomorrow & Tuesday before the summer break," she wrote alongside the snap.

"But... where did the summer go?!"

And fans rushed to the comments section to have their say on the candid weather post.

"Gorgeous photo Susanna!" one said.

Another commented: "You look gorgeous."

"Beautiful, gorgeous, adorable woman have a good week ahead take care and stay safe," a third gushed.

A fourth added: "Still glamorous even when wet," as another said: "It's raining women. Looking good Susanne xx enjoy your day."
