Susanna Reid's love life in full as she explains why she never wants to marry

Susanna Reid is used to being the one who asks all the questions on Good Morning Britain.

But she is also subjected to the same question time and time again - why she hasn't got married.

The 50-year-old presenter has carved out an incredibly successful television and journalism career, interviewing some of the world's top politicians and celebrities. But her love life has also kept her in the spotlight too.

The TV host met her partner of over 16 years, journalist Dominic Cotton, back in 1998.

The couple decided to go their separate ways in 2014 and they have three sons together - Sam, Finn and Jack.

However, despite their long relationship, the pair never tied the knot, something which Susanna insists was a "personal choice".

Asked why she never got married on Good Morning Britain, she said: "It was a personal choice. It's a bit of an old fashioned idea that children are 'illegitimate' if you're not married. Children are legitimate, whether you're married or not!"

The pair have remained good friends following their split and their focus is co-parenting their three children.

"We still get on so well, Dom is still such a hands-on dad and we really co-parent," she told The Sun's Fabulous magazine.

"So we live separately but together and happily in the same house. I'm not saying everybody can do it and I definitely think people are surprised that we can do it this way."

A few years later, Susanna moved on with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.

A lifelong fan of the football team, Susanna didn't discuss her romance much - but did vow she wouldn't be getting married.

She told The Sun: "It's not a secret, but it's private. I am very, very happy at the moment, but I don't want to be married."

Susanna's former co-presenter Piers Morgan even predicted the romance after the presenter came face-to-face with Steve back in 2016.

"Piers said it then and I said, 'No, that’s never going to happen!' But, yes, we all went on a night out in New York. It was just a little party to mark the fact we were there," she recalled.

"There was a friendship first. It was really important to me, post the split with Dom, that I focused on work and the children."

However, it wasn't to last and the pair decided to go their separate ways in April 2019 after around a year of dating.

They did confirm their split but have crossed paths a few times since, including when Susanna interviewed Steve on Good Morning Britain.

They have also been spotted out on some cosy dinners together, fuelling speculation they might be back together.
