Susanna Reid rushes to support ITV colleague after cancer diagnosis

Susanna Reid has sent a message of support to her ITV colleague following his devastating cancer diagnosis.

The Good Morning Britain presenter reached out to ITN editor editor Geoff Hill - after he spoke about the treatment he is undergoing to battle the disease.

Susanna shared an emotional tribute on Twitter to praise the journalist's character.

She said: "A courageous man - with an incredible support team. Sending strength @geoffhillitv @CureLeukaemia"

The 52-year old was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2017 - and has spoke openly about his brave fight against cancer on social media.

He told MailOnline how his treatment has involved a stem cell transplant and 100 rounds of chemotherapy - and he estimates he has taken more than 6,000 pills since his initial diagnosis.

The journalist stated he is not "out of the woods yet" - and Susanna's followers flooded the comments to echo her sentiments.

One user said: "Such courage Geoff. You're an amazing man, I truly hope & pray you beat it. Good luck with it all. Thanks to Susanna for sharing this also, its great of her."

Another added: "Well said Susanna, absolutely incredible. Good luck Geoff Hill."

A third commented: "Geoff Hill. Such a fine journalist and lovely guy."
