Susanna Reid missing on Good Morning Britain and replaced by co-star

Susanna Reid was missing from Good Morning Britain today as she was replaced by co-star Ranvir Singh.

The presenter, 49, often appears on Thursdays joined by Ben Shephard and takes a day off on Fridays. During the pandemic, her co-host Piers Morgan was also working Thursdays, but has now gone back to his usual schedule of Monday to Wednesday.

However, viewers were left confused when Susanna failed to appear on the ITV show today without an explanation, with one tweeting: "Where you at Susanna? Missing you."

This week, Susanna has been filming Gogglebox with friend Judge Rinder as she replaced her TV husband Piers.

Revealing that she needed to watch "hours and hours" of TV for the show yesterday, Susanna admitted that she was worried about the editing.

"We've not got any control over the editing," she said.

"As our friend Eamonn [Holmes] found out, that editing can be savage," Piers warned.

Today, Ben and Ranvir were also joined by Dr Hilary Jones, who spoke about whether it was safe to go on holiday.

The TV doctor said that some people won't risk it, but that it was a "good option" to drive across the Channel Tunnel.

"All of these things need to be considered, the infection rate is going down," he said, but warned that "the data is not high quality, it's patchy".

"People need to be really vigilant and cautious," he added.
