Susanna Reid missing alcohol and ‘letting her hair down’ after weightloss

Susanna Reid has admitted she misses alcohol as she can no longer get involved in downing shots on a night out.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 47, scrapped alcohol from her diet in a bid to lower her BMI after doctors warned her she was at the top end.

She embarked on a one month stint, but has now revealed she has been tee-total for two months.

But despite the health benefits she told Is It Just Me? podcast: “I really miss it. When you are in a big social group and the shots come out, I miss letting my hair down.”

She continued: “When you cut alcohol out that is an easy couple of pounds.

“As you get older your memory is affected. I just thought ‘alcohol is not great for your memory’.”

Reid, who lost one stone, opened up on Good Morning Britain about why she wanted to lose weight.

“It was a combination of factors, but a doctor said I was at the top end of my BMI,” she told co-host Piers Morgan.

“He said it might benefit me if I lost a little weight.”

Morgan later tweeted: “To be fair, I thought she was ‘hot’ before she lost a stone.”

Reid recently revealed she is dating Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish after the pair were spotted together at Selhurt Park.

Morgan then forced her to admit they are official after grilling her on the ITV breakfast show.

The pair are thought to have started dating over the summer as well as visits to watch Palace at home. It was also reported they enjoyed a romantic mini-break together.
