Susanna Reid issued an apology live on air after many Good Morning Britain viewers questioned her outfit and compared it to a dressing gown.
GMB viewers criticised her outfit choice on Twitter shortly after the show started at 6.30am.
Some said she looked like she was late while others suggested she had fallen out with the costume assistant.

People took to Twitter to express their opinions.
"I just want to point out, I did get dressed this morning," she said awkwardly. "I haven't come in my dressing gown."
One fan asked: "Has Susanna @GMB gone to work straight from bed in her dressing gown?
"Finding it difficult to take this seriously when Susanna is dressed as Samantha from Sex and the City #gmb," a second moaned.
"Did Susanna Reid forget to get dressed this morning?" asked another.
"Susanna definitely wore this on purpose; keeps the spotlight on her during the whole show which she loves," another commented.
But another reckoned: "Susanna, I think you look lovely, wish I could carry off a dressing gown like you."
"Was Susanna late to work today?" another asked.
