Susanna Reid gives thumbs up she gets AstraZeneca jab hours after Boris Johnson

Susanna Reid finally has something to celebrate after a tough few weeks at work - getting her covid jab.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 50, proudly posed for a photo as she received her vaccine, telling fans she had followed Prime Minister Boris Johnson in to the hotseat at London's St. Thomas' hospital.

She wrote: "JABBED! Thanks to Kamilah who administered the AZ vax (& Graeme who booked me in).

"Thumbs up to all the hard-working staff & volunteers at St Thomas’ Hospital vaccination centre (where Boris Johnson also got his today) on a record day for jabs."

Despite the lower half of her face being covered by a mask, Susanna was clearly delighted, giving a thumbs-up to the camera as she was injected in her opposite arm.

She got her jab at the same hospital as Boris Johnson just hours after the PM celebrated getting his vaccine.

One fan commented: "Congrats!! One step closer to freedom and hugs."

Another warned of side effects, tweeting: "I hope you feel ok after Susanna it knocked me out after a few hours I felt so weak and had a water infection...

"But I'd rather have that than have the virus it is all for the greater good."

The discomfort of an injection will pale in comparison to the stress Susanna has faced during a very dramatic fortnight at work.

Co-presenter Piers Morgan sensationally quit the show after a row about his dislike for Meghan Markle with weatherman Alex Beresford, 40.

On Wednesday, former EastEnders actress Patsy Palmer slammed closed her laptop during an interview about her book after she took offence at being referred to as an "addict".

Susanna also found herself caught up in a fiery confrontation with former MP Edwina Currie who called her out for acting like her former co-host for interrupting her whenever she tried to speak.

Susanna returns to Good Morning Britain next week.
