Susanna Reid fans say same thing as she shares rare snap of her mum

Susanna Reid has shared a rare photo of her mum to mark her 81st birthday.

Taking to Instagram, the Good Morning Britain presenter posed alongside her mother Sue Smith, and wished her a happy birthday.

The selfie showed Susanna, 52, with minimal makeup, while her mum looked more fresh-faced.

Susanna said goodbye to a fellow co-host on today's Good Morning Britain.

Over the festive period, Richard Bacon has cropped up on screen a handful of times in recent weeks and to kick off the new year he also took on the job as Susanna's co-presenter.

But on the show, Susanna revealed that Richard had told her that it was his last day on the set after he joked that Susanna had attempted to fire him "twice in the last five minutes".

She said to him: "I’m not firing you at all I’m more than happy for you to be here as often as you’d like.

"But you told me that today is your last day."

Richard said: "It is my last day, yeah it is," which prompted a sad reaction from his co-stars.
