Susanna Reid ditches Piers Morgan to pair up with Judge Rinder on Celebrity Gogglebox

Susanna Reid will finally be getting some peace from Piers Morgan as she gets a new telly partner this week.

The Good Morning Britain presenter, 49,  will be appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox with Judge Rinder host Robert Rinder, 42.

The TV duo, who are already close friends off screen, will make their debut on the show this Friday and take part until the end of the series.

Rinder told The Sun : "I am very grateful to Celebrity Gogglebox for ensuring Piers Morgan will only be the second most important man in my dear friend Susanna's TV life from now on."

Last year the pair enjoyed a boozy holiday to Ibiza.

Gogglebox bosses hope their friendship will make for some good TV, it's claimed.

A source said: "Gogglebox doesn't just find real-life TV couples, like Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, but likes to find interesting pairings.

"They also liked the mischief of splitting up one of telly's best- known presenting duos, and putting Susanna with someone she is guaranteed to have a rapport with."

Other stars in this season of Celebrity Gogglebox include Harry and Sandra Redknapp, Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash and Gyles Brandreth and Maureen Lipman.

The series has caused huge controversy when Eamonn Holmes accused bosses of editing out a story about his father's death.

The This Morning host, who appears on the show with his wife Ruth Langsford, had made a lighthearted comment after watching a touching story where a child phoned 999 to report that his father was having a heart attack.

But Eamonn hit out at the show on Twitter to say he was "deeply hurt" that Gogglebox had chosen to edit out a clip talking about his father dying from a heart attack at the side of the road.

The show has since apologised.
