Susanna Reid cringes at school photo from teenage years - and she looks unrecognisable

Susanna Reid's Good Morning Britain colleagues were loving a throwback to her youth on the show on Monday.

A school photo of the telly host was shown to viewers from when she was a teenager.

Adil Ray and Charlotte Hawkins loved the throwback, while Susanna was left cringing at it as it flashed up on the screen.

It was taken during her time at St Paul’s Girls’ School in the 1970s, with the GMB host joking there was "a lot of hair going on".

Young Susanna smiled for the framed snap, with her short, wavy hair seemingly pinned back slightly.

Adil didn't seem impressed by her school uniform, to which she confessed there actually wasn't one - something Adil called "radical".

The topic came about as her old secondary school was reportedly planning to rename the position of Head Girl to make it more inclusive.

It will become "Head of School", in a move that has apparently been blasted by staff who work there.

Susanna revealed all on her time there and how she herself never made it as Head Girl, before the photo appeared on the screen.

Immediately pulling a face, Susanna shared her disapproval of the school snap as her colleagues commented on her appearance.

She said: "Ah, look at... I mean honestly, that is not a school photograph you would ever want someone to keep in the archives, would you."

Adil commented: "That hair is fabulous. Is that your school uniform?" seeming unimpressed.

Susanna responded: "There was a lot of hair going on," before confirming there was no school uniform.

Adil claimed that this was "radical, even back then" before he burst into laughter, with Susanna also amused.

She said: "Even back then 100 years ago... thanks very much."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
