Susanna Reid confirms it's her 'last day' on GMB as she makes sabbatical joke

Susanna Reid has confirmed Tuesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain is her last for a little while.

The presenter confirmed she'll be taking a break from the show over the summer during a discussion with co-host Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins.

Susanna, 50, dropped the bombshell ahead of an upcoming interview with EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt, who is having some time off the show after 35 years.

"He's taking a sabbatical, you can do that if you've been at a place long enough, you can get a bit of a sabbatical," Ben said.

Susanna replied: "I'll tell you what, I'm taking a sabbatical for the summer, today's my last day!"

"Ah, happy days!" Ben joked, before insisting: "No, no - we will miss you."

Laughing and rolling her eyes, Susanna quipped: "God, that took a while."

Susanna, who has hosted GMB since 2014, regularly takes six weeks off throughout the summer holidays.

Also taking a break from ITV's daytime shows is Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, who have been replaced by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on This Morning.

While Ranvir Singh and Christine Lampard are taking over from Lorraine Kelly on her show for the summer.

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays 6am to 9am on ITV.
