Susanna Reid clashes with GMB guest as she defends Piers Morgan's Harry and Meghan comments

Things got heated on Thursday's Good Morning Britain when presenter Susanna Reid clashed with a studio guest.

And it was all because of her controversial and outspoken co-host Piers Morgan and his frequent criticism of Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle.

Guest Ayesha Hazarika, who hosted the sustainable tourism summit that Prince Harry attended in Edinburgh on Wednesday, also accused Piers of "trolling" her.

Speaking about Harry's appearance at the event, Ayesha said: "He was very relaxed, he was very warm, he was very focused,".

"He didn't look like a man wracked with anxiety."

"[He was] pretty defiant. I didn't sense, 'Oh, this has all been a nightmare, I'm going to hide away'. I think he and his wife have a platform."

Thinks took a more angry turn when Ayesha added: "As much as they have people who don't like him - sometimes occupying the seats you're in now - they know that they've got a lot of people who really support them and they know that they're passionate about a lot of issues which are very generational and timely, like sustainability. And I think good on them!"

Susanna responded: "I think I know what you're referring to. I'm not sure it's about not liking them. I think if the person you're referring to was sitting here today they would say they're simply targeting what some might say was the hypocrisy, perhaps, behind some of the things that they've done."

Just as she tried to justify her comments, Ayesha furiously interrupted her and blasted: "Oh, Susanna, come on! It's unhinged trolling! He even trolled me yesterday!"

The spat had viewers rushing to Twitter to air their reactions. Siding with Susanna, one tweeted: "Just been watching @GMB and Susanna Reid is right whether we agree with Piers or not he has the right to make these kind of criticisms towards a former royal family member," and another posted: "Well said I absolutely agree with you lovely Susanna Reid."
